Here we go, first blog post! Yeah, I know, I'm at least ten years behind the times. :-) But I am here now...in blog world.
When my family had the opportunity to move to Atlanta from
Texas, we had never lived here before. In fact, my husband had only
visited once and most of my time here was when I was a child. We only knew this one cute little neighborhood where the
first episode of The Walking Dead was filmed: Grant Park. Walking
distance to Zoo Atlanta - check. Farmer's Market every weekend -
check. Beautiful houses with a short commute to downtown - check.
We made the offer after a short weekend trip where we looked at 16 houses in two days (with a 2 year old and 9 month old). We were back in Texas when we found out we got it and we did our closing from there. Just a few weeks later we were traveling down I-20 with two kids, two Labrador Retrievers and two suitcases, hoping our furniture made it around the same time that we did.
Now that we are here, every day is an
adventure. Each time we go to a restaurant, museum, park or festival, it
is new to us, as though we are on vacation all the time. As it turns out, there is more to this awesome neighborhood than we thought. We have quick and easy access to a beautiful park, really nice weather, great neighbors all around us and we have really found community by getting involved in all the events and activities hosted by the Grant Park Parents Network. We have been so happy with our experience here so far and as we settle in, we have found that our whole family is All About Atlanta. Hope you enjoy reading about all the fun we have!
